Whenever we are out on a journey or work, we tend to visit and stay with either our relatives or friendly known families. This not only saves our hefty hotel bills but also nourishes our relationship and strengthens the bond between families. In fact such a short stay educates the guest as well as the host and benefits both.

The individual as a member of Globalindianfamily can be in the role of a guest or a host. The member through his profile can decide to be host for the number of days he wishes. The internet provides a mechanism for quickly making contact with like-minded* individuals who are interested in being the guest if it matches his requirements. Globalindianfamily makes a most practical and affordable use of the email facility.

For an example: Jaideep from Ajmer has an interview to appear at a place close to Madurai. He as a Global Indian Family member logs on and sends his request with particulars of his visit. The Globalindianfamily database finds that Siva and Ravi from Madurai are potential hosts. Now Globalindianfamily sends email to both of them with particulars and gets confirmation from them. If both of them confirm, Jaideep gets an email allowing him to choose to stay with any one. As Globalindianfamily database grows, so too does the opportunity to meet more people. To use Globalindianfamily , apart from having a liking to meet people, you need to first register. (Remember by the very nature of the service Globalindianfamily provides, it is most essential to register the correct and true information which is guarded by the website and is never passed on to anyone without the concurrence of users.)

Registration costs Rs.100/- and lasts for twelve months whereupon it is renewed on payment of your subscription. For NRI’s / non Indians $ 10 or its equivalent. There is a token gift of Rs.100/- per day, which we propose that the guest needs to pay to the host in cash. (The same in case of a stay out of India would be currency equivalent of $ 10/- per day per person). Thus in fact, the Globalindianfamily provides an opportunity for the potential host to earn many times his registration cost, and saves a lot of money for the guest as well.

Globalindianfamily ends its role for the guest once the contact is made and it is solely dependent on both the members to develop their own interactions. However depending on the profile of the potential host he can still continue to be host to other guests.
You can change your profile any time using intuitive screens within the Globalindianfamily site.
By like-minded we mean the members are expected to be willing to accept the guest’s stay and guest in turn is willing to stay with the host in the same conditions as the host stays. And members have a desire to develop family contacts. (Also refer our FAQ).

SAFETY AND SECURITY

The concept of getting a guest whom you do not know is of concern to many people. Globalindianfamily is very conscious of this factor and has built this website with some safeguards in place to reduce potential problems. And the same will be actively reviewed as we receive feedback from users.

The safeguards we have taken include:

• Collecting contact information from every user, we verify the e-mail address by only sending the password to that address. We randomly verify phone numbers of the members.
• We take a nominal amount of Rs.100/-(USD10/-for NRI’s) by demand draft only as a further safeguard to ensure that users are both genuine and serious.
• We monitor feedback through emails and reserve the right to cancel any user’s registration in case of complains by other users.
• We only match hosts’ profile against the guests’ requests of stay and do not share any of your information without your concurrence.
• We promise never to reveal your contact details to any other user without your knowledge.

Finally, we welcome feedback from you as to ways in which we can improve the service and make it the safe and secure environment we aim to promote.

Safety & Security Tips

1. Your personal safety must be your primary consideration in availing the services of Globalindianfamily as a guest or host.

2. The host is at liberty to verify the guest details like land line phone numbers for home and work, some form of identity card say like driving licence, passport or college identity etc. You may check these numbers if possible using services like directory enquiries to verify the number and then call the numbers to ensure the user is known. The guest may carry such details he thinks useful in identifying himself.

3. Safety of the belongings is at owner’s risk. Globalindianfamily is in no way responsible for it.

4. The host or guest has no obligation to comply with the requested stay. So the cash payment to be made to the host could be made on a daily basis so that in case of termination of the stay for whatsoever reason, neither guest nor host suffers. Globalindianfamily will not be responsible for any such disputes.

5. A general understanding of “do’s and don’ts” or rules (regarding timings to be followed etc.) may be reached with the guest prior to the stay.

6. You may ensure that someone responsible knows about your guest/host. Keep him updated of any changes so that tracing back, if necessary becomes easy.
Do not feel embarrassed about asking questions when you contact the potential guest / host. People with genuine intentions will feel encouraged by your attitude.

Finally, whilst it pays to be cautious and makes sense to take steps to ensure your safety, remember that the vast majority of the population is honest and genuine people who like you are attracted to Globalindianfamily mainly to develop contacts at different places.
